Lardini – Italian elegance from Filottrano to the world

From Filottrano to the world
It all began in 1978 in Filottrano, a small town in the province of Ancona, surrounded by the
picturesque hills and a long-standing tradition of craftsmanship. Here, the Lardini family, driven by the creativity of brother Luigi Lardini, took the step from traditional tailoring into something of their own.
What started as a bold venture quickly evolved into an independent expression of Italian elegance, firmly rooted in the label “Made in Italy”, a mark of pride that extends far beyond its borders.
Made in Italy – more than a label
For Lardini, “Made in Italy” is not just a label attached to a garment, it is a promise and a deep connection to their roots. In Filottrano, at the heart of one of Italy’s most renowned tailoring districts, technical precision meets craftsmanship refined over generations.
Each piece passes through the hands of artisans who know exactly what they are doing, guided by a deep respect for the material.
A living family legacy
Lardinis vision extends beyond the conventional notion of family. This expansive family comprises entrepreneurs, creatives, and artisans, all united by authentic human connections, weaving together a tapestry of genuine relationships and shared dreams.
It is in the meeting of people, ideas, and tradition that the identity of the brand continues to take shape.
Lardini’s ambition is to redefine Italian elegance by combining tradition with innovation. The result is an expression that feels both timeless and relevant, where classic silhouettes meet contemporary materials and techniques.
Materials and dedicated craftsmanship
Quality begins with the raw materials. Lardini works with carefully selected fibres such as cashmere, wool, merino wool, organic cotton, silk, and linen, with a significant portion produced exclusively for the brand.
During the cutting phase, modern technology is used to optimise precision and minimise waste, a way of combining traditional craftsmanship with contemporary demands for efficiency.
Signifiers of Lardini
Certain details return throughout the collections, becoming part of the brand’s DNA.
- The Lardini flower
The small flower on the lapel is perhaps Lardini’s most distinctive signature.
“I have always been a romantic soul. I wanted to make our product recognizable and memorable over time, so I created a flower to wear on the jacket’s lapel. Giving a flower is like leaving a message when words fall short.”
– Luigi Lardini
Originally inspired by the light spirit of the 1970s, the flower has evolved into a more understated, matte black version. Still discreet, but unmistakable.
- The Blazer
The blazer is the ultimate symbol of elegance and Lardini’s signature piece. It forms the foundation for creating and enhancing different styles.
Its design ranges from everyday versions in plain weaves or patterned fabrics to luxurious blends of cashmere, wool, cotton, silk, or linen, sometimes finished with distinctive buttons that add an extra refined touch.
- The Knitted Blazer
The knitted blazer remains at the core. A garment that carries the entire expression and can shift a look with subtle adjustments.
At Lardini, it moves from relaxed daytime versions in lighter fabrics to more refined interpretations in exclusive material blends. Details such as buttons, weave, and construction give each piece its own character.
Lardini is Italian elegance in its purest form, where craftsmanship, heritage, and innovation meet under “Made in Italy”. From Filottrano, each garment is shaped through carefully selected materials and tailoring rooted in family tradition. What remains is the essence: the blazer, the details, and the construction that holds it all together.
