The fleece jacket
As spring and summer approach, the fleece jacket is the ultimate accompaniment on colder days. Fleece jackets are especially popular amongst outdoor enthusiasts, hikers and campers as they are lightweight, breathable and provide excellent insulation. However, the jacket is just as practical in town, at work as it is worn on a hike. A versatile and comfortable alternative that is appreciated for its warm, durability and easy care.
The fleece jacket is available in multiple styles and models, including full-zips, half-zips and pullovers. They can be worn as an outer jacket on milder days or as a mid-layer on those chilly days. Dare to choose a colour that stands out from the spring crowd, or keep it simple with a natural colour.
The raincoat
The raincoat is an unavoidable garment to have in the wardrobe. The first raincoats were made during the middle of the 19th century and were primarily made of rubberised cotton. In 1851, the Scottish chemist Charles Macintosh invented a new waterproof fabric by connecting two fabrics together with rubber. This new material dubbed "Mackintosh" and was used to create the first raincoats. The Mackintosh raincoat became instantly popular and was worn by both men and women.
Raincoats are available in different variations and materials, including the classic trench coats with GORE-Tex or nylon models. During spring and summer, you can match the brightness of colours to get the perfect feeling. Otherwise, choose a colour that can lighten up in the rainy weather or choose a classic green, blue or black colour variation.
The overshirt
An overshirt, also known as a shirt jacket or shacket, is the perfect blend of a spring jacket and a can be worn instead of a shirt. Overshirts are a useful and practical garment that can be worn in a variety of situations, from casual weekends to more formal occasions and can be dressed up or down depending on the situation. An overshirt in a heavy twill pairs perfectly with a pair of light jeans.
Windbreaker
Although the sun brings warmth throughout the spring months, cold and windy days also feature throughout. A thin windbreaker protects you from the wind, without warming you too much. Wear an extra fleece underneath for a layered effect on cold and windy days. Select your sporty or casual style based on the occasion. The waxed jacket
A waxed jacket is perfect for the majority of occasions in the countryside or in the city. The waxed jacket is a true icon, the waxed coating protecting the wearer against the rain. Britain’s Barbour have manufactured outerwear since the end of the 19th century, and is one of the foremost manufacturers of waxed jackets. Apart from their practical uses, the waxed jacket has also become a fashion accessory, with many fashion icons wearing them on the streets of London and New York. Despite their popularity, Barbour continues to manufacture high quality, functional outerwear that can stand up to the challenges faced by outdoor enthusiasts, hunters and farmers.Do you want to continue where you were?
