America’s outdoor brand Black Diamond focuses on designing and manufacturing innovative equipment for mountain climbing and skiing. They breathe mountain sports and their design vision is characterised by a philosophy of uniting soul and technology. The equipment is imbued with shared experiences in the mountains, whilst also being able to cope with even the toughest environments.

The story behind Black Diamond begins with the Chouinard Equipment brand, which was founded in the late 50s. Chouinard Equipment produced mountain equipment that at the time was united with the way the world of climbing and mountain sports developed. Black Diamond was founded in 1989 when the employees of Chouinard Equipment acquired the brand. The history and legacy behind Black Diamond lives on even today, through a desire to change the ethics of rock climbing in the same way as Chouinard Equipment.
