About Sebago
Maine, USA has been home to the Sebago brand since its founding in 1946 by entrepreneurs Daniel Wellehan, William Beaudoin and Joseph Cordeau. Their vision was to create high-quality, casual footwear “for the common man”. The brand began by producing hand-sewn penny loafers, but its big breakthrough came with the launch of its now iconic Dockside boat shoes in the 1970s which quickly became synonymous with the Sebago name and its strong connections to the nautical world. Today, the company continues to honour the entrepreneurial spirit of its founders and still produces many of its models by hand in its Maine factory.
