The Blueprint is a drink built up on the classic Spritz, basically wine and something with bubbles. I have chosen to use port wine, so that its berry flavours and sweetness comes with. The tonic makes the drink bubbly and the sharpness and bitterness of the tonic balances with the sweetness of the port wine. Blueberry powder you get in small measures with each sip and strengthen that berry sweetness in the drink while it being visually enticing.
You need
- 5cl of Port wine
- 10-15cl of Tonic water
Method
- Use a tall glass
- Damp the outside of the glass, I use gin
- Sprinkle the blueberry powder so that it fastens to the glass
- Fill the glass with ice and fill the ingredients over the ice
Non-Alcoholic Mimosa
One of the most classic drinks to have with brunch is the Mimosa. In this case, we have chosen to opt for a non-alcoholic sparkling wine. Make sure that the wine is “dry”, so that it has a low sugar content, so that the sweetness of the orange juice can perform its task correctly. If you use a wine that is too sweet, then you risk that the drink will be too sweet.
You need
- 10cl of Freshly pressed orange juice
- 10cl of Non-alcoholic sparkling wine
Method
- Use a tall glass without ice
- Make sure that the ingredients are cooled and blend them directly in the glass
Sbagliato
Sbagliato is a bubbly drink which builds itself around the Negroni in the background. Instead of gin, you use a dry, sparkling wine and from the beginning this was a mistake, by the bartender at Bar Basso in Milan, where the drink was created. The name Sbagliato means “mistake” in Italian, but with the result in hand, the taste is anything but a mistake.
You need
- 3cl Apéritif bitter
- 3cl of Sweet Red Vermouth
- 12cl of Dry, sparkling wine
Method
- Use a glass with a stem, with ice
- Pour the ingredients over the ice and then stir
- Garnish with an orange slice and some orange zest
