The Italian fashion house Bottega Veneta was founded in 1966 in Vicenza by Michele Taddei and Renzo Zengiaro. Bottega Veneta produces clothes, shoes and accessories with a sophisticated design language, but are well known for their braided leather handbags. The leather weave design, named Intrecciato, was developed in 1975 and has remained Bottega Veneta's signature look. The fashion house experiments with shapes and silhouettes, resulting in innovative creations that exude elegant minimalism and artisanal quality.
